Who are the partners ?

Map of europe showing location of the partnersFive countries are involved: Wales, Thuringia (Germany), Pomorskie (Poland), Slovenia and Estonia. Within each region there is a main partner organisation which is coordinating activities within their region. These main partner organisations are:
• In Wales, the regional government department of forestry, Forestry Commission Wales
• In Thuringia region in Germany the trades guild in a technical training college, the Environment Centre for Trade, Thuringen.
• In Slovenia, the Department of Wood Science in Ljubljana University
• In Poland, a community association is an area with rich forest resources, the Tourists Association of Communities 'BOR'
• In Estonia, a science park near the main city in the south of the country, in an area rich in forest resources and wood industries, Tartu Science Park in Estonia.

Regional networks will work together to implement the project and pass on outcomes to colleagues. The aim is to involve a representative cross-section of those stakeholders who have an interest in, or influence on, whether timber is chosen as a material in a construction project. These networks, coordinated by the regional partners, will include professionals from development agencies; planning, procurement and policy officers from local and regional government; the engineering and construction business sector; timber supply chain SMEs; designers and architects; housing associations; researchers, certification bodies, valuers, insurers and mortgage providers.
